Ada Omo Day is a movie about Ireti: Why on the day of her daughter’s debut, IRETI unexpectedly receives a call from her long-lost ex-husband, IFEANYI, endangering the stability of her family. Ifeanyi puts pressure on Ireti as the wedding draws near because he wants to meet his daughter and accompany her down the aisle.
When Perosola, the bride, discovers that her devoted father is not her biological father, her entire world crumbles, and she is forced to choose between her newfound bond with her father and her allegiance to the man who reared her.
The movie was co-directed by Akay Mason and Adebayo Tijani, with Mercy Aigbe as producer of the project. However, she had this to say about the movie in her recent interview with Vanguard.
“This film aims to unify the Igbo and Yoruba cultures. It is to tell us that regardless of our differences or diversities, we are one and should love and celebrate one another. It is also to tell us that we might have issues, but we should forgive one another and move on. It is a big project film, a large-scale film.”
