Elon Musk Is Now Richer Than Mark Zuckerberg & Jeff Bezos’s Ex-Wife Mackenzie Scott Is Now World’s Richest Woman
South African born American business entrepreneur and founder of electric vehicle and clean energy company, Tesla Inc, Elon Musk has sured the founder of social media giant Facebook Inc, Mark Zuckerberg, as the world’s third-richest person in the world.
On Monday, Elon Musk‘s Tesla stock continued their unrelenting rally after undergoing a forward stock split days ago. He’s now the world’s third-richest person with a net worth of $115.4 billion compared with $110.8 billion for Mark Zuckerberg, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Ever since the pandemic lockdown has hit the world generally, Musk has seen a meteoric rise in his wealth, as he has accumulated $87.8 billion this year as Tesla shares surged almost 500%.
On the other angle, the founder of Amazon Inc, Jeff Bezos‘s ex-wife MacKenzie Scott became the world’s richest woman, surpasing L’Oreal SA heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers. The rise of Mackenzie Scott’s wealth was due to a 4% stake she received in Amazon.com Inc. as part of her divorce from founder Bezos, which is now worth $66.4 billion.
Tesla’s $464 billion market value now exceeds that of retail behemoth Walmart Inc., the largest company in the U.S. by revenue.
Last week, Musk ed Zuckerberg, Bezos, and Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates in the rarefied centibillionaire club as tech stocks rose.
