Kingsley Izuchukwu
Kingsley Izuchukwu, a 34-year-old Nigerian player, was detained by Indian police in Delhi in 2011 for reportedly possessing 25 grams of cocaine. He was a Pepsi Football Academy product and a leading national-level football player in Nigeria.
Upon his arrival in India in 2009, the footballer was linked to an international drug-trafficking gang of Nigerian descent operating in Delhi. Two years later, he was caught.
Edwin Congo
In 2020, Spanish authorities detained former Real Madrid footballer Edwin Congo as part of an investigation into a cocaine-smuggling network. He and eleven other people had been detained.
