The Head of English department, of the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) Dr. Mohamed Sani Idiagbon has resigned from the school following the releases of sexual harassment toward one 200 level student of his department.
According to report by Sahara Reporters, indicate that the victim student identify as ” Faith ” by the Student Union President is a 200 level student of the department of English, had gone to the HOD office concerning a Continuous Assessment test she had missed.
The University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, confirmed Idiagbon’s resignation after he had been suspended and removed as the head of the English department, saying that he (Idiagbon) refused to honor an invitation of the Staff Disciplinary Committee before he chose to resign.
He also said that the university is investigating the matter and will ensure that the lecturer is duly punished if found guilty of the allegations against him.
“The university frowns against sexual harassment or any other harassment at that. The university is making necessary investigation and once we are done, the culprit will be brought to book,” he said.
